Not investment or tax advice.  FloorPricer is a trade-execution tool, not a financial advisor. A floor is one layer of protection, not a guarantee — it can sell you out before a recovery and can't prevent losses on overnight gaps. Past performance does not predict results; all investing risks loss. See full risk disclosure.

The FloorPricer Harness

13 MCP Tools Paper Trading Only Alpaca + Claude
Getting Started

Connect in 5 minutes

You need three things: an Alpaca account, a Claude subscription, and the FloorPricer MCP.

1

Create an Alpaca paper trading account

Go to app.alpaca.markets/signup and open a paper trading account. Get your APCA-API-KEY-ID and APCA-API-SECRET-KEY from the dashboard under API Keys.

2

Install the FloorPricer MCP

Install the FloorPricer MCP server, then set your Alpaca keys as environment variables:
ALPACA_KEY_ID=your_key   ALPACA_SECRET_KEY=your_secret   ALPACA_PAPER=true

3

Add FloorPricer to your Claude config

Add the MCP server to ~/.claude/claude_desktop_config.json or your Claude Code settings. See the config block below.

4

Start a conversation with Claude

Open Claude and say: "Connect my FloorPricer and show me my dashboard" — Claude will call dashboard and you'll see your paper account balance live.

Configuration

claude_desktop_config.json

Add this to your Claude Desktop or Claude Code MCP config:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "floorpricer": {
      "command": "node",
      "args": ["/path/to/floorpricer-mcp/dist/index.js"],
      "env": {
        "ALPACA_KEY_ID": "your_alpaca_key_id",
        "ALPACA_SECRET_KEY": "your_alpaca_secret",
        "ALPACA_PAPER": "true"
      }
    }
  }
}

Keep ALPACA_PAPER set to true and use paper keys. Live trading is not open yet.

The server places a paper order as soon as your assistant calls buy_stock, sell_stock or set_trailing_stop, and check_ladders buys when a ladder level is hit. It does not ask you first. Tell your assistant to confirm each order with you before it calls one.

Morning Floor Check Routine
Run this every morning before market open. Takes 30 seconds.
Copy this prompt
Good morning. Run my FloorPricer morning routine: 1) Check market status, 2) Show my dashboard, 3) Check all floors and raise any that moved up overnight, 4) Check all ladders for any triggered buys. Give me a summary of what happened.
Staged Entry — Ladder Orders
A power-user entry tool: instead of one lump purchase, place preset limit buys at levels below the current price. Understand the trade-off — each rung adds to a position that is falling.
Copy this prompt (edit ticker + prices)
Get me a quote for NVDA, then set a 3-rung ladder: 5 shares at 5% below current price, 10 shares at 10% below, 20 shares at 15% below. Then set a 8% trailing stop on any existing NVDA position.
Review Your Paper Results
Honest self-tracking: measure each paper position against what you paid for it and see what each decision actually did.
Copy this prompt
Show me my dashboard. Break down the gain or loss on each position since I opened it, as a percentage, so I can see which decisions worked and which did not.
Lock In Gains — Protect All Positions
One prompt to set trailing stops on everything you own.
Copy this prompt
Show me all my positions. For any position that's up more than 5%, set a 6% trailing stop. For any position that's up more than 15%, set a 10% trailing stop. Tell me what you set and what floors you established.
